Who you are dealing with

Long-Form is where you write and publish long articles. It is published by Rapid Commerce, a practice of Big Boy Media Ltd (“we”, “us”). Big Boy Media Ltd is registered in England and Wales, company number 4768408, VAT GB 251 2919 15. These terms cover your use of Long-Form. The Big Boy Media terms cover https://www.bigboymedia.com. Where a point is about Long-Form, these terms apply. Where a point is about the parent company website, the parent terms apply. Both are the terms of Big Boy Media Ltd.

Accepting these terms

Create an account only if you agree to these terms and you have read the privacy policy. The signup form asks you to tick that box. If you do not agree, do not create an account and do not use Long-Form. Reading a public sample does not create an account.

You agree to use Long-Form lawfully, and not in a way that impairs the service, corrupts what other people have saved, or tries to reach another account or the server beyond what the pages allow. You are responsible for activity under your login.

The trial and Studio

The trial is £0 for 60 days. No card is taken to start it. Studio is a PayPal subscription at $12/mo, paid to sales@bigboymedia.com. PayPal takes the payment. We do not see or store the card. Studio stays on while that subscription is paid, including through the end of a period you have already paid, and it ends when PayPal tells us the subscription has ended. Cancelling is done in the PayPal account.

The free plan includes the Paper theme and one series of up to three articles you write. Studio adds the other themes, removes the series limit, and can show a reader-support button. That button is a preview. Nothing is paid to a writer.

Your writing

You keep the copyright in the words you write here. You give us permission to store and display that writing so Long-Form can show it to you, and show an article to anyone with its public address. Sample essays already on the site belong to us. Do not upload work you have no right to publish.

Our material

The Long-Form name, the interface, the sample essays, and the illustrations stay ours, on the same footing as the intellectual property clause in the parent company terms. You may read them and use Long-Form. You may not copy the product, the samples, or the drawings for a competing service.

As is

Long-Form is provided as is. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or free of mistakes, or that a draft will suit a particular publication. Keep your own copy of work you cannot afford to lose. We may change or remove parts of Long-Form. If we change these terms, the date at the top of this page changes with them, and continued use after that date is acceptance, as with the parent company terms. We will not use a change to pretend a past mock checkout was a real charge.

Liability

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit, lost business, or lost data, arising from use of Long-Form. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that the law of England and Wales does not allow us to limit. If a clause in these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still stand.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales decide disputes about them. That is the same governing law as the Big Boy Media terms.
